Salary:

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for direct delivery of patient care in clinic settings. Plans, directs, monitors, coordinates, controls and evaluates clinical care activities and services delivered to individual patients as provided by the Corporation, mid-level providers, and support staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides medical services to patients of the clinic including examination, diagnosis, planning, treatment and evaluation of progress with an emphasis on prevention.

Provides extended care services to patients.

Accurately and systematically documents patient health information in the BSHC Electronic Medical Record System.

Returns patient and other provider phone calls as necessary.

Communicates appropriately with patients and patient families regarding patient’s condition and treatment.

Keeps regularly scheduled clinic hours and is available to provide patient care at all times during these hours.

Cooperates in promoting the team concept of health care delivery.

Provides clinical supervision to medical support staff.

When requested, advises on questions involving medical matters.

In collaboration with Administration, assists in development and periodic updating of any standards of care, principles of practice, standing orders, clinical protocols and other medical policies that may be promulgated by BSHC.

Advises Administration on matters concerning staff professionalism and conduct of professional and support staff.

Assists in the recruitment and orientation of new medical support staff.

Assists in the development of training and continuing education opportunities for medical support staff.

Actively participates in assuring continuing quality control in the delivery of health services to BSHC patients. May participate in audit procedures for quality assurance.

Adheres to the terms and conditions set forth in BSHC’s corporate compliance program.

Ensures confidential information in accordance with BSHC’s policy and current HIPAA regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Licensure to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky.

BLS & ACLS certified, PALS certified depending on privileges.

Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position.
