Job Description

PMI Kyoto Packaging Systems is looking for a Local Service Controls Technician to join our team in our Elk Grove Village office!

Responsibilities:

Be responsible for custom machine building, debug, inspection, and repair of custom built high speed automation equipment as well as traveling to customer sites for customer sites as needed for commissioning and training of customers.

Debug of machines both mechanically & electrically.

Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning & final acceptance testing of automated machinery.

Assist in the final stages of acceptance testing and assembly before & after machines are shipped to customer sites of Machines based off of Engineering drawings

Resolve the machine issues that arise on site at customer sites and provide online troubleshooting (phone, teams, remote in to machines)

Work side by side with our other Service Technicians on site and assist with mechanical tasks.

Requirements:

More than 5 years of experience in Allen-Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s, AutoCAD

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology

Experienced with electrical/controls aspect of machine design, has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field

Literate using AutoCAD for all electrical design purposes

Familiar with selection and use of commercial products like photo sensors, pneumatics, vision systems, hot melt systems, etc.

Proficient in PLC code and motion controls

Understanding of—or ability to learn—industrial writing concepts

Understanding of machine timing concepts

Experience electrical schematic software (AutoCad light, SolidWorks Electrical is a plus)

Exposure to and interest in PLC and HMI programming, multi-axes coordinated motion control

Good electro-mechanical skills and understanding

Interest in hands-on machine work with sensor and actuator adjustments

Open to Travel up to 70%-80% of the time

He/she is required to report to our facility in Elk Grove Village, IL when service travel is not scheduled.
