Job Summary:
HOLT's IT Intern will assist professional staff by providing computer hardware, software, technical, and/or administrative support. This position is for students in the Dallas area, this internship will be conducted on-site and will extend beyond the summer.
The intern in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Essential Functions:
Provides administrative support for the Information Technologies department (documentation, knowledge base, makes copies, answers phones/e-mails)
Assists with computer hardware installation, configuration, troubleshooting
Assists with gathering requirements for technical projects and tasks
Assists with software development (.Net, Sharepoint, DBS), testing, and rollout
Responds to incoming calls and logs service requests for Service Desk
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline
Must possess a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); ability to produce information in spreadsheets, documents, forms, tables, and presentations
Knowledge of the operation of personal computers, PC Operating Systems, PC Printers, and peripherals including diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
Exceptional skills in customer service
Strong organization skills, detailed-oriented, and ability to work on multiple projects
Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and customers (internal and external)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
