Job Summary:

The Manager of Accounting reports to and partners with the CEO and the executive team to set accounting policy and direction while also being an active participant in, and driver of, the organization's overall accounting strategy. The Manager of Accounting will be responsible for managing the accounting control functions of the organization. Monthly activities include generating, maintaining reports and data, reviewing financial and accounting administration, business planning, and budgeting. The Manager of Accounting serves as a trusted business partner to executive team members and establishes strong business partnerships across the organization including finance, operations, sales, and IT.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Accounting and Audit Department

Duties/Responsibilities:

Ensure effectiveness of accuracy and timeliness of forecasting, reporting, accruals, collections, and other financially related processes and systems on a weekly and monthly basis

Ensure processes are running efficiently and effectively.

Manage accounting processes while simplifying as the business grows through new markets.

Manage, and oversee as point of contact/liaison for all financial processes related to revenue and billing reconciliations.

Recommend ledger account coding for operational/departmental expenses.

Working with various cross-functional stakeholders to maintain efficient and compliant accounting processes, and effective controls.

Performs daily banking activities, including providing Accounts Receivable Specialist with deposits to post, WEX transactions, ADH payment to be posted and other daily tasks as required.

Daily QuickBooks entries to post transfers involving Zero Balance Accounts

Leads continuous improvement initiatives, standardization, re-engineering of processes and controls and implementation of best practices.

Demonstrating excellent project management abilities and strong understanding of financial and accounting systems

Monitor and manage cash flow of the company and maintain banking relationships.

Perform credit risk management.

Work closely with business functions to support decision making.

Production of the group financial and accounting reporting.

Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting.

Management of the General Ledger and Accounting and Audit Department.

Payroll responsibility in the ADP HRIS system.

Daily accounting activities as directed and required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proven track record as a leader who can solve problems and resolve conflicts.

Supervisory experience as direct manager of a department with responsibility for hiring, accountability, performance reviews, team development, etc.

Self-motivated, curious, critical thinker with a high sense of urgency.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and ERP systems. Experience with ERP a plus.

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business as it grows.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University in Accounting/Finance; MBA a plus.

7-9 years of management experience in accounting.

Physical and Work Location Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

A hybrid work location is authorized for this position with a balance of work from home, work from office requirement. Schedule is set by manager.

Company specifications must be met for internet connectivity when working from home.
