Scope of the Role

The Business Solutions Architect is responsible for strategic design and planning of solutions for our clients. The Business Solutions Architect is the leader of the process that develops the best solutions to fit our customer's needs. This individual will have the ability to speak both "technical" language with developers and "business" language with our clients to achieve the best outcomes.

This position works closely with the Regional Leadership Teams to explain how solutions can be delivered, the products, frameworks, what APIs and services that should be used with the cost, duration and effort required. The Business Solutions Architect will guide the selection of technologies and definition of the development stages the implementation team will utilise, to ensure a profitable solution meeting our customer's needs.

As a member of the Solutions Team he/she will be responsible for implementing agreed business strategies and processes, providing technical advice to regional management and for making a major contribution to the successful running of the Region in strategic as well as operational matters.

Job Summary

Solutions Architect role works with Solutions Business Managers and Regional Sales Engineering to develop technical concepts to solve our customers problems, leveraging the toolset available - Tait and Third Party Product, Software and Services.

Located and in relative proximity to our customers and global offices.

Works with Solutions Business Manager and pre-sales engineering teams to solve customer problems.

Works with Global Product Management, Development and Partnering teams to solve market problems.

Work with Delivery Teams to develop scalable solutions and products.

Lead brainstorming sessions to develop potential solutions for business needs or problems.

Identify opportunities for process improvements.

Prepare and document testing requirements.

Draws on any Tait resource (e.g., IT) in supporting business needs and goals.

Provides Specialist knowledge in technology applicable to one or more of our vertical markets - for example Mission Critical Push To Talk for Public safety, Intelligent Transport systems and standards for Public Transport and SCADA Management systems for Utilities.

Evangelise software and services across the organization.

Coaches our customers and helps develop their Technology choices.

Coaches the organisation in the application of technology to our chosen markets and customers.

Enables customer upsell by solving additional technical problems within existing customers.

Builds and contributes to compelling business cases for internal and external investments.

Business Outcomes

Develop Customer problem awareness within Tait.

Develop Tait's Capability to propose Business Solutions including Tait and Third party product, software and services.

Enable the Replication of Solutions wins around the world.

Building of long term Strategic relationships.

Influencing of Customer Solution direction.

Development of existing long term strategic relationships - converting into Tait solutions customers.

Influence product strategy to align with Customer solutions requirements.

Key Capabilities

Excellent written and oral communication skills; must be able to clearly present concepts to non-technical audiences.

Able to quickly research and grasp the key points in related technology areas to better understand the customer's problem domain.

Analysing, documenting and summarising the customer's:

Technology environment

Business processes

Technical requirements

Enable Creative collaboration both with Customers and Internally.

Influence Customer Technology direction.

Influence Internal Technology direction.

Identify and enable technology partnership opportunities in order to solve customer problems.

Knowledge and Experience Requirement

Bachelor or Master Degree in Business or other relevant field of study.

Has a knowledge and experience of working with one or more of our relevant verticals - Public Safety, Utilities, Transportation and Mining.

Demonstrates knowledge of communications and related technologies that Tait are converging with: Cloud, 3GPP technologies, Web technologies, WiMAX, LoRA, Wifi.

Awareness of Cyber Security for Critical Infrastructure.

Awareness of ITIL Service Management and delivery concepts.

A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar or related position.

Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred.

The Business Solutions Manager will comply with information security, cyber security and data protection controls, policies and procedures of Tait and prevent breach, destruction, loss, unauthorized distribution, use, access or disablement or other compromise or misuse relating to any information technology system or Data used in connection with the operation of the Tait's business.
