Position: Mental Health Therapist

Location: North Bethesda, Maryland

Work Environment: Teen and Young Adult Outpatient Treatment Center

Licensure Requirements: Maryland Clinical OR Provisional License (LCPC, LCSW-C, LCMFT) (LGPC, LMSW, LGMFT) ( LGADC or LCADC)

First Year Income: $70,000-$99,000

Sandstone Care is a leading provider of treatment programs for people aged 13-30 who struggle with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. We offer a continuum of care that includes residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. We also provide academic and vocational support, family involvement, and alumni programs.

As a therapist at Sandstone Care, you will have the opportunity to:

Provide compassionate and essential care to your clients, guiding them through their recovery journey and helping them achieve their goals. You will build trusting and meaningful relationships with your clients and empower them to overcome their challenges and reach their full potential.

Lead group therapy for your case load (8-12 clients), creating a safe and supportive community where clients can connect and learn from each other. You will facilitate engaging and interactive group sessions, using various modalities and techniques to address the needs and interests of your clients.

Provide individual sessions tailored to each client's needs, using the best practices and evidence-based interventions in the field. You will assess and diagnose your clients and design personalized treatment plans that align with their strengths and preferences. You will use a variety of approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and family therapy, to help your clients achieve their goals and improve their well-being.

Develop and oversee treatment plans, tracking the progress of your clients and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic and effective approach. You will monitor and evaluate your clients' outcomes and adjust their treatment plans as needed. You will also communicate and coordinate with other professionals, such as psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and educators, to provide comprehensive and integrated care for your clients.

Qualifications:

You must currently have a clinical or provisional license in Maryland LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, LGPC, LMSW, or LGMF ( LGADC or LCADC) - If you are licensed in another state, you must be able to transfer your license to Maryland before you start date.

1 year of experience working in an outpatient, detox or residential treatment setting.

2 years of non-internship experience treating substance use disorders.

You must be proficient in using clinical skills and modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and documenting your work.

Compensation and Benefits

First Year Income: $70,000-$99,000 (First Year Income) depending on your qualifications and experience.
