OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: Social Media AssistantLOCATION(S): St. PaulPAY RATE: $15.00/hourHOURS: 5 - 8 hours/week as determined by student's academic availability.
JOB SUMMARY
Create and maintain content for the Center for Irish Studies' and its publication New Hibernia Review's social media channels (i.e. facebook, instagram, connections with OneStthomas, etc.). Equally important, the Coordinator will develop social media promotion for publications and events of the Center for Irish Studies throughout the academic year and in anticipation of the summer.
The Center for Irish Studies is the oldest Center for Irish Studies in the U.S. and an internationally-recognized part of the College of Arts & Sciences. The Center publishes a journal, hosts events in Ireland and the U.S., and has a newly-established JTerm program in Dublin-Galway and the Aran Island in Ireland and College of Arts & Sciences Minor in St. Paul.
The Social Media Coordinator position affords a great deal of creative freedom as you'll collaborate closely with Director, Dr. David Gardiner. Moreover, the position will work closely with high-level administrators in the University's various social media departments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work with the College of Arts and Sciences' Social Media Department to train and aquire UST social media access;
Monitor the various Center for Irish Studies' social media platforms;
Create content for newly-created platforms;
Organize current creative assets effectively;
Generate original content in collaboration with the Director, College, and Study Abroad Programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient in social media and a variety of emerging social media platforms;
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills;
Strong ability to work independently;
Creative thinker with a positive attitude; and
Desire to modernize an already established global program.

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. Preference will be given to currently enrolled UST undergraduates with significant social media experience. Interviews may begin before the end of Spring term 2024 but will end May 16 and begin again on September 4, 2024.
