We are looking for a Lead Ruby engineer to join our development team that works on Baldwin Safety Management System (SMS). Baldwin SMS is a SaaS solution used by hundreds of aviation and ground transportation companies worldwide to manage all aspects of their safety & compliance. It automates safety data collection & reporting, routers information to the responsible people in the organization, and contributes to the reduction in aviation and ground transportation incidents.
As a Lead Ruby engineer, you’ll be working with a team of professional software developers, product managers and flight safety experts who are in love with aviation, eager to share their knowledge, and captivated by the idea of building a world-class flight safety management system.
Tech Stack
Ruby on Rails, Vue.js, Jest, Cypress, GraphQL, Postgres, Redis, CircleCI, NewRelic, Sentry, Docker, AWS, CloudFormation
Requirements
Expert skills in Ruby on Rails
Expert skills in Vue.js or another framework for creating single-page applications (React.js, Angular, etc)
Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with database migrations
Experience in designing applications architecture, good understanding of the MVC, SOLID, DRY, KISS, design patterns and other development best practices
Strong and consistent understanding of GraphQL and REST API
Good understanding of CI/CD principles, experience in writing unit and integration tests, strong knowledge of Git
Experience with AWS and CloudFormation is a plus
Great troubleshooting skills
Strong motivation and willingness to learn
Practical and results-oriented engineering mindset
Desire to build reliable and efficient solutions
Interest in business aviation and in becoming a domain expert in the field
