Position Summary:

KOA is adding a Laser Scanning Technician to complement our existing capabilities involving scanning, data processing, and point cloud management to enhance the delivery of design and engineering services that incorporate 3D laser scans into design elements.

The ideal candidate will conduct on-site scanning operations utilizing advanced Faro and Trimble scanners across a spectrum of industries. This role involves performing 3D laser scanning, post-processing of scan data, and integrating scan data into design models when required. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in civil survey methodologies, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate scan data with survey data effectively.

Essential Functions:

on-site 3D laser scanning operations utilizing Faro and Trimble scanners requiring 20% travel.

post-processing of scan data to ensure accuracy and quality.

scan data into design models using industry-standard software.

scan data with survey data to ensure alignment and accuracy.

closely with project teams to meet client requirements and deadlines.

and update scanning equipment as needed.

to safety protocols and best practices during scanning activities.

Required Qualifications:

degree in civil engineering or related field preferred.

of one year of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or three years of relevant experience with technical certification.

in operating Faro or Trimble scanners, with a strong understanding of their capabilities and limitations.

with industry-standard software for post-processing and integrating scan data (e.g., Faro Scene, Trimble RealWorks, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Revit).

understanding of civil survey methodologies and practices.

attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in scanning and data processing.

communication and collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

ability to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies.

Compensation:

Compensation for this position will include a base salary range of $55,000 – $100,000 /year. Conditional offers will be based on the candidate’s education, experience, technical skill, and other considerations.
