Shipping and Receiving Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Manager to oversee all aspects of our shipping and receiving operations. As the Shipping and Receiving Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products, ensuring efficiency and accuracy throughout the process. Your leadership skills and strategic mindset will be essential in optimizing workflow, maintaining inventory levels, and meeting customer delivery requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage the shipping and receiving team, including hiring, training, and performance management.

· Plan and prioritize daily shipping and receiving activities to meet operational goals and deadlines.

· Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to schedule inbound and outbound shipments.

· Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, resolving any discrepancies or issues as needed.

· Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation of outgoing shipments to comply with regulations and customer requirements.

· Oversee the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

· Monitor inventory levels and implement replenishment strategies to maintain adequate stock levels.

· Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes.

· Implement quality control measures to minimize errors and improve overall process efficiency.

· Collaborate with the procurement and logistics teams to optimize supply chain operations and reduce costs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

· Proven experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suits.

· Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

· Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on attention to detail.

· Experience managing office assistance, CDL Drivers, forklift operators.

· Proficiency in using SAP software and other shipping/inventory management systems.

· Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.

· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve processes and outcomes.

· Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP).

· Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

· Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- This role primarily operates in a warehouse environment.

- Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to meet shipping deadlines or address urgent issues.

- Physical requirements include lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 20-30 pounds and standing for extended periods.

- These duties are not an exhaustive list and may warrant additional tasks as designated.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience, expertise, and testing proficiencies.
