About The Job

TheCustomsand Trade Compliance Managerensures the efficiency and accuracy of all compliance activities. The Customs and Trade Compliance Manager makes sure that the work is organized in an optimal way in order to secure efficiency as well as a high level of internal control.

In this role, you will work to ensure Customs compliance in support of a dynamic Supply Chain, while promoting a vibrant Customs organization that strives to be a trusted resource to all stakeholders. The Customs and Trade Compliance Manager works to protect the IKEA brand through best practices and helps facilitate the realization of the IKEA vision to make a better everyday life for the many people!

Your main tasks will include:

Responsible for oversight of day-to-day compliance functions

Ensure implementation, management, and documentation of all pre-entry and post-entry processes, including HTS classification, antidumping and countervailing duties, Partner Government Agency requirements, and drawback

Support and monitor the strategic use of Free Trade Agreements

Secure efficient and effective internal controls and compliance to internal and external rules and regulations

Develop and implement working methods across Compliance functions

Lead and develop the Compliance Team in accordance with the principle of leading Business and People together

Support and develop training on relevant Customs topics for stakeholders and business partners

Manage and maintain interaction with Customs authorities as well as support external audits and local certification procedures

Continuously evaluate current ways of working, identify control weaknesses, develop solutions, and implement improvements

Support the establishment of one common annual business plan for the Customs organization and deliver agreed activities

Ensure that local activities are organized in an optimal way for efficiency and internal control

Take active part in the development of the Customs IT landscape and provide support in the establishment and implementation of compliance related system updates

Ensure local competence level in accordance with responsibilities, including back-up and succession planning

Interface with other key IKEA departments impacting Customs functions/operations

Monitor changes in local rules and legislation and provide timely communication of events with potential business impact

Contribute to regional/global development to support projects and establishment of working methods

Implement and maintain local Customs and trade solutions such as bonded warehouses and Foreign Trade Zones

Support expansion projects with compliance and duty implications

When applicable establish trade statistics and communicate with relevant stakeholders

Responsible for establishing brokerage policy toward trade compliance, supporting the management of Customs brokers/agents, and maintaining standard operational procedures

Actively identify and manage risks related to Customs processes

Qualifications

About You

You have proven Leadership skills and are eager to develop yourself and your co-workers. You have an organized way of working, are eager to drive change and find optimal working practices. You thrive in a diverse and global environment and have strong communications skills, both written and verbal.

Knowledge

4-year University degree or relevant experience is required

Customs Broker License is required

7+ years of experienceanddemonstrating application of Trade knowledge in operational and compliance environment

Previous experience in Import/Export and Supply Chain logistics

Previous experience in dealing with external authorities

Practiced ability to read, interpret and comprehend regulatory requirements for imports and exports

Experience in working in a process-oriented organization

Fluency in English (written and verbal)
