We are currently in search of a Cloud Engineer to join our team, and I believe your expertise and professional network could be invaluable in helping us find the right candidate for this role.

Here's a brief overview of what we're looking for:

A minimum of 3 years' experience in cloud engineering.

Some experience with Cloud DevOps and Cloud Network.

The candidate should not have a history of being a full-time contractor or leaving positions within a year.

We prefer candidates not coming from large companies (such as Chase) to better fit our company culture.

The ideal candidate should have experience in various aspects of cloud technology and must be an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.

Wants to eventually get an architecture certification for AWS.

5 years in cloud

Background as DevOps engineer, network or cloud engineer desired.

Position Summary

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for supporting and configuring all aspects of our AWS cloud environment including infrastructure, identity management, data, monitoring, alerting, and DevOps functionality. The Cloud Engineer will also be responsible for establishing a go-forward strategy for new and innovative cloud opportunities, providing consultative direction, and leading the adoption of new cloud technologies. The candidate should have excellent analytical skills, a logical approach to problem solving, and be able to liaise with various stakeholders to understand complex requirements.

The ideal candidate will have software development experience in an agile Java or PHP environment and have a focus on exceptional customer service, striving to leave things better than they were.

Job duties and responsibilities:

Administer and optimize all existing cloud-based ecommerce daily operations, ensuring a secure and reliable environment for our customers and franchise partners.

Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring of our environment and partner with respective teams for effective automated alerting. Establish anomaly parameters and oversee the response and repair of alerts.

Lead recovery efforts during critical hardware or software failures. Execute thorough root-cause analysis and implement all opportunities to avoid repeat scenarios.

Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems/services; assist in development and implementation strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

Lead the creation of a disaster recovery plan and execute periodic coordinated disaster recovery tests.

Build, maintain, and present cloud architecture diagrams and documentation that represent the cloud ecosystem.

Serve as the liaison and primary relationship manager with external cloud partners who deliver system-related products and services.

Provide oversight and support of the cloud data management strategy, systems, and techniques.

Actively monitor the cloud industry for new trends and technologies. Provide consultative direction and strategy for the organization roadmap. Execute exploratory adoption tests and lead full adoption implementation as advised.About the role:

99.9% is AWS

Primary concern is the website.

Frontend and backend databases, Aurora and RDS databases

First layer of backend code written in Java with EC2 and auto scaling group

Runs from 4-15 instances based on volume.

PHP layer runs on Java.

6-40 instances

Load Balancers in between each layer.

Route 53 is on top of this.

Applications running from point-of-sale systems.

Main database for whole company and reporting systems are pulled down from AWS and they maintain this.

Updated website last year

Moved everything over in last 2-3 years.

Before was in Expedient and now everything is AWS
