Function:

The function of the Rigging lead is to set up, operate, and maintain entertainment rigging equipment. The ideal candidate is an experienced technician with excellent interpersonal skills who can uphold Clearwing standards and provide professional customer service both in-house and on job sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Update rigging lists in Easy Job per specifications and/ or designed rigging system.

Work with warehouse staff to pull, prep and pack rigging gear for all projects.

Assist in keeping accurate records of all certifications and work done on rigging equipment.

Maintain, inspect, and assist in repairing motors, Sumner Lifts, motor distros, and other rigging items in Clearwing inventory.

Design and implement rigging systems and work closely with Lighting Operations, System Techs, and Account Executives to ensure shows success.

Perform on site rigging installation, including marking points.

Calculate load requirements.

Possess an understanding of 3-Phase power and help calculate power consumption for rigging systems.

Report any safety concerns to management.

Call and oversee truck pack in the shop and on site, as needed.

Lead a crew in-house and onsite and understand union/house rules.

Certified in CM, Stagemaker Training, and knowledgeable in Tomcat, Tyler, and Thomas truss systems.

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications:

Five (5) year’s experience in entertainment rigging production preferred.

Intermediate Vectorworks/Braceworks user, preferred.

ETCP Rigger, preferred.

Valid Drivers’ License and Clean MVR.

Willingness to travel (occasionally on short notice), must have valid passport.

Preferred Certifications: OSHA 30, CPR, Forklift, Boom Lift, and Scissor Lift.

Physical Working Conditions:

Regularly bend, twist, stretch, push, pull and carry, lift 50-75 lbs.

Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Walk up and down stairs or ladders and comfortable with heights.

Work in various temperatures and outdoor weather conditions.

Work "on-call" as needed including some nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work long hours and overtime as required.

Able to Travel (possibly with short notice).
