Senior Estimator (Commercial Construction) - for an internationally ranked GC.

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join my clients team in Phoenix. In this position, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation for commercial construction project proposals and bids. Identify and computes labor, material, and time costs by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and other bid documents. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the estimation process for commercial projects, manage a team of estimators, and ensuring accurate and timely cost assessments.

Requirements:

5-10 years previous commercial construction experience with public, private or federal projects is required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - with the ability to assess complex project requirements and budgets.

Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Working knowledge of estimating software like Timberline, OST and MC2

Working knowledge of programs such as Primavera (P6), Bluebeam, Synchro, Excel, and Word

B.S. Degree – Construction Management or Engineering preferred.

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

Role Responsibilities:

Visit project and pre-bid meetings to understand site conditions/scope.

Review plans and specifications.

Provide accurate take-off.

Work with the estimating team to build the estimate and pricing.

Develop preliminary schedule.

Leads new work procurement by producing and participating in estimates, working with the subcontractors, and participating in proposals.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and ensure comprehensive estimates.

Conduct thorough analysis of project plans, specifications, and requirements to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost optimization.

Research and suggest alternative materials and construction methods to enhance project efficiency and competitiveness.
