Sierra has been engaged by a boutique MSP that services small/mid sized companies in the Chicago area. You would join a dynamic team of IT five other SA's, playing a critical role in maintaining and optimizing client IT infrastructure. With a strong emphasis on remote support, you will utilize your technical expertise to address and resolve a wide range of IT issues efficiently and effectively. While most of your work will be done remotely, you will be onsite 1 day per week in their Lombard office, with occasional client site location visits within 30 minutes of your home base.

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive technical support to a portfolio of retained clients, ensuring timely section of IT issues, and minimizing downtime.

Proactively monitor and maintain IT systems, including sever, networks, and other infrastructure components, to optimize performance and reliability.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking, utilizing a systematic approach and best practices.

Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business requirements and recommend tailored IT solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as systems updates, patches, and backups, to ensure the security and stability of clients’ IT environments.

Document all support activities, solutions, and configurations accurately and comprehensively, maintaining detailed records for future reference.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role, preferably in an MSP environment.

Strong proficiency in managing Windows and/or Linux server environments, including AD, Exchange, and virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V

Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, such as TCIP/IP, DNC, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN

Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Asure) and cloud-based services (e.g., Office 365, G Suite).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-centric mindset and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
