General Position Summary
The Quality Engineer assists and supports the Quality Manager on assigned projects. He/she supervises the project quality inspection functions and activities in conformance with the company’s Quality Program.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the strict adherence to company safety policies and programs through the communication and enforcement of the Skanska Safety and Health Management Program including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violation
Perform primary quality assurance/quality control inspections required in conformance with the project contract drawings and specifications
Perform quality oversight on subcontractors
Attend all jobsite and prepare documentation for Quality Meetings
Implement company quality control (assurance) program manual
Document all inspections, tests, daily reports, quality records and material procurement traceability
Inspect equipment and workmanship for compliance
Work closely with the Owner’s field representatives & inspectors on quality related matters
Develop and implement corrective measures in cases of noncompliance

Skills & Abilities
Computer proficient and the ability to adapt to new innovations and processes
Strong written, communication, and problem solving skills
Working knowledge of regulatory agency QA/QC requirements
Ability to manage workload effectively including plan, coordinate, organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Strong technical writing skills
Functions effectively as part of a team
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor of Science in Construction or Engineering preferred, but experience may be considered in lieu of
QA/QC training preferred
Work Environment/Job Conditions
This job is performed both in the office and in the field. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment, systems and conditions is required. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
