Job Description

Reading Blueprints and Diagrams:

Interpret and work from electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications to ensure accurate installation and repairs.

Electrical Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues to identify the root cause of problems and determine the appropriate solutions.

Code Compliance:

Ensure all electrical work is compliant with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations to meet safety and legal requirements.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

Operate various electrical tools and equipment needed for installation, maintenance, and repair work, ensuring they are well-maintained and in good working condition.

Circuit Testing and Verification:

Conduct tests on electrical circuits to verify proper functioning and identify any issues that need to be addressed.

Panel Upgrades and Installation:

Upgrade electrical panels and install new ones to accommodate additional circuits or meet the changing electrical needs of a residence.

Grounding and Bonding:

Properly ground and bond electrical systems to ensure electrical safety and prevent electrical hazards, such as shocks and fires.

Lighting Installation:

Install various types of lighting fixtures and systems in accordance with design plans and customer preferences.

Energy Efficiency Improvements:

Suggest and implement energy-efficient solutions, such as LED lighting or energy-saving devices, to reduce electricity consumption and lower utility costs.

Customer Communication and Education:

Communicate with homeowners to explain the work being performed, offer advice on electrical systems, and address any concerns or questions they may have.

Record-Keeping and Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of work performed, including diagrams, specifications, and service records, for future reference and billing purposes.
