Job Description
The Jefferson, a historic hotel nestled in the heart of downtown Washington D.C., invites passionate and driven individuals to join our team for an enriching Summer Human Resources Internship experience. This position will offer a hands-on learning experience in various aspects of human resources within the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with a passion for service excellence and a keen interest in developing a career in Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the HR department in maintaining employee records and taking the lead on digitalizing current employee files
Assist in the recruitment and hiring process, including posting job ads and scheduling interviews
Help organize and manage new employee orientation and training sessions
Participate in the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives
Help coordinate staff events and team-building activities
Contribute to the review and improvement of HR procedures and policies
Perform administrative tasks such as filing, handling phone calls, and managing email correspondence
Assist with Human Resources special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field
Strong interest in the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering high standards of customer service
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with HR information systems
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
