Job Description
Job Title: Designer/Layout Artist/Graphic Editor
Experience: Minimum 5 to 9 years
Qualification: Graduate
An understanding of printing technology.
Candidate will be required to design the feature pages of The Times of India, Bombay Times, and special editions. Candidates who have previous experience in a newsroom and know how to design broadsheet, tabloid, and magazine pages would be preferred.
Knowledge of how to design mailers and other artwork would be an added advantage.
Knowledge of software like Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress, CorelDraw, Acrobat, MS Office is a must.
Knowledge of video editing software like Adobe Premier Pro would be an added advantage. Additionally, familiarity of how to design social media posts, create infographics, and keep up with digital trends will be preferred.
Design the overall layout of a newspaper. This may include developing the newspapers' mastheads as well as the headings, footers, and artwork found in each newspaper edition.
Candidate should be adept at designing reader friendly and attractive news layouts based on strict template
The candidate should also be able to quickly learn the production process.
Candidate should be able to work in high-pressure conditions and meet deadlines.
