Utility Technician Collier County

$20.91 Hour

Monday to Friday 7AM TO 3:30PM

Must complete Background and Drug Screening and have valid Drivers License.

Performs semi-skilled manual labor work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of utilities collections systems, including a variety of manual labor tasks. • Assists with the maintenance of wastewater collection systems, lift stations, and sewer lines; ensures proper flow of sewer wastewater from homeowners to sewer wastewater treatment plants; maintains sewage pumping stations; troubleshoots electrical problems in panels; rewires electrical boards and floats; rehabilitates lift station panels; maintains master pumps, pulls pumps, and troubleshoots pump problems; repairs/replaces pumps and floats; repairs flat bracket in wells; scrapes and cleans out wet wells, walls, and rails for pumps; repairs railing system for pumps. • Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with division projects. • Follows safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment, and monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals. • Prepares, completes and/or receives various forms, reports, correspondence, checklists, work orders, lift station sheets, maintenance reports, charts, time cards, leave requests, or other documents. • Communicates with supervisor, employees, other divisions, contractors, utility companies, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
