In the framework of a construction project located in Tanzania, we are currently looking for a Site Mechanical Quality Inspector.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise all piping and pipeline welding activities subcontractors, and ensure works are in-line with contract specifications, and company requirements

To follow the application of project quality plan specifications based on client standards and customer requirements, construction and start-up.

Review the welding procedure specification and inspection requirements prior and during welding.

Inspect and evaluate welds according to specified inspection procedures, standards, codes and drawings.

Check and monitor NDT requirement (Method, qualification of operator, execution).

Check and monitoring static / rotating equipment quality requirements.

Attending to the inspection points at site considered as necessary.

Supervision, checking and acceptance of regulatory tests performed.

Represent the company in all construction related meetings with subcontractors.

Support the treatment of Non-Conformances and collaborate on corrective and preventive actions to correct and prevent the appearance of Non-Conformances.

Reporting to the Quality Manager about quality activities performance and efficiency

Ensuring the work at site of subcontractors.

Review all related mechanical quality documentation issued by subcontractors (Inspection Testing Plans, Special Process Procedures, Test Procedures, Material Certificates, Test Reports, etc) including Quality Dossiers of the construction/assembly works and start up.

Attend and be proactive in the project/ subcontractors meetings.

Participation in the transfer of construction systems to commissioning.

Profil

Degree in Industrial Technical Engineering, mechanical speciality or other technical education

Certified Welding Engineer / Welding Inspector (IW, WI, CSWIP)

Qualification in Non Destructive Examination (RT, UT, MT, PT, Visual Inspector), Coating & Insulation inspection (AMPP, NACE, FROSIO, etc), Tanks and Pipelines inspection (API 653, APL 570, etc.)

Training and knowledge of International Standards in process engineering, piping structural steel, equipment, machinery as ASME I, I, V, VIII, IX B31.1, B31.3, AWS D1.1., API 650 and ASTM, EN, 150, BS Standards.

A minimum of 5 years engineering and/or construction working experience on industrial facilities: Oil, Petrochemical, Gas, Power Generation, Sugar/Ethanol

Able to manage Quality Control tasks (review of ITs and inspection and test procedures, interpretation of plans, data sheets and technical specifications, issuance of inspection and test reports, review of final dossiers) related to the applicable standards.

Necessary proven experience as a resident for a long period in construction works.
