Mid-Level Test Automation Engineer

Job Description

Valytics, LLC is seeking Test Engineers with experience developing automated tests for clinical software solutions, like end-to-end clinical workflows for patient encounters, for example. The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for working with functional testers to understand manual workflows and coding those in Micro Focus’s Unified Functional Testing (UFT) tool, executing those test cases, recording results, and uploading evidence files to the IBM Rational Jazz solution. In addition, the candidate will identify, document, and proactively work to resolve any issues/defects during execution and through the software development lifecycle (SDLC). This candidate must be dynamic and personable.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Duties:

· Follow established standards and procedures to estimate and create test cases to satisfy requirements

· Trace requirements to the test cases

· Review customer comments and apply edits to the test cases

· Develop and support Electronic Health Record (EHR) testing strategies (forward-thinkers are a huge plus!)

· Perform desktop and web application test automation and functional test automation

· Provide input to test reports after a test event occurs

· Develop and execute Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) automated test cases

· Review test scripts to ensure appropriate tests are created and executed correctly to verify requirements

· Manage testing efforts and defects though defect lifecycle

Qualifications/Experience Required:

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

· U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance

· 5 years of relevant work experience is required

· Experience with platform testing (popular platforms, operating systems, and cross-browser compatibility)

· Experience with interface testing tools (Rhapsody Integration Engine knowledge, a plus)

· Experience using enterprise testing tools in a government environment such as: UFT (required), ALM (required), IBM Jazz test repository tool experience or equivalent (JIRA, TFS, etc.) (preferred)

· Clinical software background, direct or related clinical experience, or prior experience with the Military Health System (MHS) applications/environments

· Familiarity with ALM and its use as a UFT code repository/CM tool

· Understanding of unattended execution of UFT scripts using ALM

· Experience with Cerner EHR (preferred)

· Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly in English

· Understanding of testing methodology

· Microsoft Office suite experience
