Laundry Aide

Our Calgary client provides long term care and rehabilitation to adults in our community, and they are seeking a Laundry Aide to join their team right away. If you have previous experience in a laundry type capacity and looking to work in a care facility, we’d love to speak with you!

Responsibilities:

Collect soiled linens and personal laundry from user areas.

Sort, wash, dry and fold linen and resident’s personal clothing.

Operate automatic washer and remove linen carts from area.

Perform minor mending and ironing as required.

Apply identification labels to all personal clothing and linens.

Assist the truck driver to load material and linen.

Interacts positively with guests and staff.

Ensure a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

Able to read, write, and speak in English proficiently.

Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, stretching, and moving heavy objects; comfortable with tasks such as mopping, using cleaning equipment.

Knowledgeable on how to use laundry equipment and supplies.

Must be free of allergies or related conditions aggravated by work with detergents, soaps, and chemicals.

Desire to provide quality care to guests, passionate about working with seniors.

Positive attitude, works well with a team to provide excellent care.

Must be agreeable to a vulnerable sector background check as part of employment.
