Food Service Aide

Our Edmonton client provides long term care and rehabilitation to adults in our community, and they are seeking a Food Service Aide to join their team right away. If you have previous experience in a food services and looking to work in a care facility, we’d love to speak with you!

Responsibilities:

Assist in preparation and serving of meals following a set menu

Ensure food is stored properly following kitchen policies and procedures

Create daily reports of transactions

Ensure that proper diets are given to the correct residents

Monitor eating habits for the welfare of guests

Maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring safe use of all equipment

Cleans dinnerware, equipment, and dining / kitchen area thoroughly

Garbage disposal as required

Other tasks as required

Requirements:

Adhere to all food safety polices and procedures

Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, stretching, and lifting heavy objects

Possesses or is willing to acquire Level 1 Food Safety Certification

Positive attitude, friendly demeanor toward guests and staff

Patient, flexible, and enjoy keeping busy between meal service

Must be agreeable to a vulnerable sector check as part of employment
