Compensation:
The hourly pay for this position is $27.30/hr-$32.00/hr based on experience
Schedule:
M-F with possible Sat shifts 40 hours/week.
The hours of operation are M-F 8am-7pm and Saturday 8am-5pm.
Registered Dental Assistant Job Responsibilities:
The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) performs a variety of dental assisting duties while promoting a safe and clean environment for quality dental care. These duties include but are not limited to assisting the doctor, and teaching patients how to care for their teeth.
Essential Responsibilities (Under the general direction of the Clinic Manager, the Registered Dental Assistant performs a variety of complex, professional, analytical, and confidential Dental services):
Digital dental radiographs (x-rays) and dental photographs
Assists the dentist during a variety of examinations and treatment procedures: instrument transfer, dental procedure isolation techniques and preparation of dental materials
Prepares treatment rooms, instruments and cassettes for procedures
Records medical, dental history, vital signs and visit information in the electronic patient record (QSI)
Pours, trims and polishes study casts; fabricates custom impression trays from preliminary impressions: cleans and polishes removable appliances and fabricates temporary restorations
Serves as an infection control officer, follows infection control protocols and sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment
Assists patients with referrals and follow up appointments
Takes impressions of patients teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
Other duties as assigned.
Assume general administration duties including fax, filing, copying, etc.
Attend webinars, workshops, training and/or meetings as requested by the Clinic Manager.
Perform special project research and data collection activities as requested by Clinic Manager; analyze and interpret data, and prepare reports.
Coordinate special staff events and prepares and distributes promotional flyers for such events.
Registered Dental Assistant Requirements
CA RDA License, Coronal Polishing License, Sealant, and X-Ray License required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of two years of experience as an DA preferred
Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Farsi, Vietnamese, Mandarin)
Community or public health experience preferred
CPR training
Work Conditions:
Travel locally to visit other sites, may require a day or overnight trip to attend events; workload may be demanding at times; require professionalism and confidentiality.
Physical Demands:
Sitting, walking, and standing associated with a normal medical/clinical office environment.
Regular bending and stretching; and lifting.
Manual dexterity used to include, but not limited to, standard office equipment, and computer keyboard.
Traveling to work sites including some exposure to outside elements.
Presenting information in front of a group.
Reading and writing in order to review records for accuracy.
