Wake Spine and Pain is seeking Medical Assistants with one or more years of experience working in a healthcare environment.

Job Duties:
Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a medical provider (i.e., procedure room assisting, managing fluoroscopy machine, documenting procedure notes, prepping room for physician).
Medical Assistant administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, authorizations, incoming and outgoing faxes, insurance verifications, maintaining, and updating medical records.
Medical Assistant clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, prepare treatment rooms, assist provider with materials, instruments, and equipment during exam, sterilizes and cleans instruments, maintains inventory of supplies, and ensures efficient patient flow.
Additional duties include but are not limited to:
Patient Intake - taking height, weight, vitals, medical history
Diagnostic Imaging - authorizing, scheduling, obtaining results via websites
Telephone Triage
Outgoing referrals
Medical Supply Ordering and Inventory Control
EMR data entry
Patient Education
Urine Drug Screening
Pulling NC Controlled Substance Databases
Documentation of Lab Results
Fitting DME such as back braces and TENS units
Patient Education of DME
Utilizing x-ray for diagnostic imaging in clinic
Scheduling
Occasional responsibilities include but are not limited: check-in, check-out, collecting and posting payments, handling new patient referrals
