Clinics within the North region that applicants will need to be comfortable commuting to and working at based on business needs:
Wesley Chapel, Trinity, Land O Lakes, Sun Lake, and Tarpon Springs
The position will remain open until all vacancies are successfully filled.
What You'll Do:
Work as a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant mid office team member who provides patient care under the direct supervision of the providers.
Responsibilities:
Routinely performs medical assistant procedures assists the providers with patients, including preparing patients and the examination rooms, taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs, and explaining the process to the patients.
Consistently undertakes front office and clerical duties such as assisting patients with paperwork, verifying patient demographics and insurance benefits, and performing billing and bookkeeping functions.
Frequently checks and keeps rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, washes and dries instruments used, and prepares sterilization as required.
Clean wounds, draws labs, electrocardiograms, and applies dressings and splints as directed by provider.
Assists provider in all special procedures, including minor surgery, as required.
Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of provider or which training has been given.
Outlines care instructions to patients as instructed by provider.
Assists with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by provider.
Responsible for proper handling and storage of all medications stored in the office.
Updates medical records in accordance with procedures and forms.
Follows HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality and follows principles of medical ethics for medical assistant.
Assists patients any time an urgent need is apparent or as directed by supervisory staff.
Other duties may consist of notifying patients of lab results, giving vaccines, immunizations and medications prescribed by the doctor; lab work consisting of throat cultures, hematocrits, and urinalysis.
Complete required trainings as assigned by the organization.Requirements:

Follows established office routines, policies, and procedures
Understand and abide by the ethics of confidentiality/HIPAA
Display a courteous and friendly attitude to patients and team members
Complete learning and development training as assigned by the organization
Cross train between front office and mid office responsibilities as needed to ensure a synced clinic
Effective problem solving skills
Ability to help assist with front office duties as needed/requested
Performs other admin related duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required
BLS certification, preferred
Hold a current Certified Medical Assistant certification, required
Experience with EPIC, strongly preferred
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional medical environment
Onsite position
Consistent use of technology platforms throughout shift to complete assigned work tasks
Frequent use of working on a computer to complete assigned work tasks
Ability to move supplies and office equipment (up to 20 pds)
Work Schedule and Travel:
Typical Work Schedule: 40-hour work week Sunday through Saturday with 3 x 12-hour shifts and 1 x 6-hour shift.
Every other weekend required.
Overtime hour availability based on patient volume and clinic needs
Regional staffing requires travel within region. Travel outside region may be required based on volumes and clinic needs.
Mileage program available for eligible movement.
May require traveling to clinic locations outside preferred region during training
