ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepare and weld structural steel, pipe and vessel components in all positions per engineered drawings.
Read and understand blueprints, especially symbols used for welding instructions.
Basic knowledge of pressure vessel product line preferred.
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and sub-assemblies prior to welding using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, flange line up pins, wrap arounds, center finders and tape measures.
Must perform x-ray quality welds.
FCAW, GMAW, SMAW welding processes, required; SAW and TIG a plus.
Ability to take and pass the 6G and 2G welding certification test.
Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools pneumatic hand tools, cutting torch, forklift and overhead crane that are common to the welding trade.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Six (6) months to one (1) year welding experience in pressure vessel, tank or structural shop, successful completion of a technical welder training program or an equivalent combination of experience and education, preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Capable of understanding structural steel BOM’s and associated drawings
Must be able to stand and work for 10 hours
Performs quality checks
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
