Who We Are Looking For:

The Consulting Engineer is responsible for working with our customers to design, document, and implement robust networking solutions. This position requires a blend of technical competence, teamwork, and customer service skills to successfully run a Post-Sale Professional Services engagement from project assignment to project closure. The Consulting Engineer leverages ANM’s Technical Lead team members, Project Management Office, Managed Services team, and industry-leading technologies to implement optimal solutions and deliver value to our customers.

What will you be doing as a Consulting Engineer

Acts as a technical implementation network engineer for an assigned project and works closely with the project manager, Senior Network Engineers, and customers to complete project tasks.

Generates and implements network configurations, follows the project plan, and completes project documentation for the assigned networking projects – Strong Implementation Plan / Test Plan / Contingency Plan required.

Ensures smooth transition of documentation to the Managed Services team as required.

Performs analysis and diagnosis of networking problems.

Provides technical support for routing, switching, security, and wireless technologies to ANM customers.

Effectively utilizes moderate lab setups to recreate and solve problems or test implementation methods.

Uses knowledge of technology, products, and services to build enterprise networking solutions.

Invest time in continued education to learn new networking/security technologies and keep certifications current.

Required education, technical skills, and/or experience:

Associate's degree in networking/related field OR equivalent work experience.

Cisco networking industry experience and knowledge of products and protocols.

CCNA-R&S is highly desired, OR a combo of certifications and work experience. Must be willing to attain CCNA within a year of hire date. Aruba certifications are a plus.

Sound analytical and troubleshooting skills with Routing/Switching/Wireless across Cisco and Aruba platforms are highly desired.

Experience with Cisco IOS and IOS-XE. Cisco IOS-XR, NX-OS, and Aruba-OS experience are desired.

Familiarity with Cisco SDWAN and DNA Center/SD Access is desired.

A good understanding of Network Security and experience with Cisco firewalls is desirable.

Knowledge of / experience with Cisco Meraki (Hardware, Dashboard, etc.)

Knowledge/use of Wireshark or similar network capture tools to diagnose IP-related issues.

Knowledge of Network Management Systems (Cisco PI, Solarwinds, etc.)

Experience in FW solutions (Cisco FTD, Palo Alto, Fortinet) desired.

Experience with performing wireless surveys (Ekahau) is desired.

Skilled in using Visio and other network documentation software.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to work well in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and focus on customer satisfaction.

TRAVEL:

Travel may be required for this position. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and motor vehicle insurance.
