With the rapid growth of our business, we are seeking to hire a full time, Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman to run a small crew and operate heavy equipment. This position requires grading, excavating, loading, hauling, trenching, driving metal posts, and moving dirt to facilitate the completion of various earthwork projects.

Responsibilities:

Help manage crew/job-site safety, production, customer service, equipment maintenance, accountability, on-the-job training of new hires, hand digging, pipe installation, job site cleanliness, and moving the project forward any way they can assist.

Operate company tools and equipment certified to operate in a safe and productive manner - be a spotter for operator- confirm location of Miss Utility Marks and following Miss U/Customer/Company mechanized equipment policies,

Achieve daily production goals without damages or safety incidents

Work with Foreman to plan work 24 hours in advance and communicate additional resources/material/equipment needed to Foreman.

Partner with Foreman daily to ensure project success/delays, concerns, safety incident, or damages are transparent.

Assist with developing recovery plan should a project fall behind schedule/off budget.

Superior customer service -maintaining professionalism on job-site, keeping work area clean, organized, and secure.

Safety awareness and compliance; daily communication and expectations clearly set, daily tailgate talk performed, OSHA and Company Policy compliance, complete company equipment pre and post check when applicable, use of equipment in safe manner, etc.

Accountability of self and assist foreman with managing crew, including subcontractors on job-site (i.e. traffic control crews, saw cutting crew, sub excavator, etc.)

Maintaining company equipment on-site (crew truck organization/cleanliness, grease, clean, track location of eqp, secure eqp at end of day, inform foreman to call rental equipment off-rent when no longer needed, and communicate any damage/loss ASAP)

Required to be on job-site no later than 7am unless project requires different start/stop time. Employee must maintain reliable transportation options to get to and from job-site.

Strong communication skills with internal and external partners.

Administrative responsibilities daily/weekly. Technician will occasionally be required to enter daily pre/post equipment inspections, reporting any loss or damaged equipment, requesting maintenance needs.

Positive, solution oriented, forward thinking attitude, contribute ideas and feedback, focus on process improvements and help initiate division wide, cannot be a ME/I mentality, must be a WE/TEAM mentality to ensure the Dry Utility Division is successful and continues to grow with a strong, positive culture.

Required Qualifications:

At minimum 8-12 months of experience with dry utility projects

General understanding of construction

Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements:

Employee must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).

Regularly required to sit and stand, must be able to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and verbally communicate and listen.

Other physical requirements include walking, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Specific vision abilities required by the position include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
