Job Description Summary:

A Workplace Accommodation Case Manager assists with all aspects of ADA accommodations for OhioHealth associates including evaluating leave as an accommodation, at work accommodations, intermittent leave as an accommodation, and job placement for those associates unable to return to their jobs due to restrictions related to an illness or injury. Position is responsible for providing expert consultation on ADA reasonable accommodation, Leave of absence and FML cases to internal and external legal counsel.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (Required)SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Field of Study: Business, Human Resources, rehabilitation, or other related field.

7 Years of experience managing ADA reasonable accommodation and interactive process.

Strong Communication skills: knowledge of medical terminology, claim management experience, knowledge of ADA and Federal FMLA regulations. DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

CRC or CDMS credential preferred; 7 - 10 years' experience managing ADA reasonable accommodation and interactive process. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Assess needs of associates requesting an at work accommodation including intermittent leave as an accommodation.

Follow the Disabilities and Reasonable Accommodation Policy.

Responsible for creating an inviting atmosphere for an associate with a disability to feel supported in requesting a reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to follow the "Interactive Process" to determine the accommodation needs of the associate and OhioHealth's ability to provide and effective accommodation.

May need to work with manager; health care provider; Human Resource, Associate Relations representative.

Research accommodation options to find options and if needed work with purchasing to obtain equipment item.

Provide follow up to associate to determine accommodation is effective.

Provides case management services to associates during accommodation process.

Assess needs of new hires requesting an accommodation prior to hire.

Determine if associate is qualified and what accommodations can be provided that will allow them to perform all essential functions of the new position by working through the interactive process.

Work with Talent Acquisition, Human Resource, Associate Health clinics and leaders. 40%

Provide job placement assistance to associates with disabilities who are unable to perform the essential functions of their own position due to restrictions.

Receive referrals for job placement from Disability Case Managers for associates who no longer can perform their job due to their permanent restrictions.

Assess the associate for job readiness; interest inventory; resume writing and restrictions.

Partner with the associate to identify positions they may be qualified.

Networks with managers on open positions for associates.

Coordinates job coaching and job trials for candidates as appropriate.

Provides case management services to associates during job placement process. 10%

Responsible for providing documentation and testimony if requested on any legal charges related to ADA or FMLA.

Works with outside counsel on EEOC charges related to ADA and FMLA.

Gathers all documents related to the case and provides to counsel.

Available to counsel for depositions.

Provides expert testimony related to charges. 10%

Assists with complex ADA, leave of absence and FMLA requests a. Acts as the ADA and FMLA subject matter expert.

Responsible for providing opinion on complex cases including contacting the associate for clarification.
