Scrum Master

SMX is seeking creative problem solvers who can operate in a fast-paced IT environment. We are looking for someone who has hands-on experience with managing a matrixed IT team. This is a hybrid position with on-site work performed at the client’s office located in Washington, D.C. minimum three days per week. Top Secret clearance required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Acts as scrum master to facilitate the scaled agile framework utilizing Kanban methodology

Understand, distil, and communicate government and Program Manager strategy to define and track individual project objectives

Organize, assign, and track IT technical development tickets within Jira

Coordinate and facilitate cross functional teams to accomplish team goals

Communicate project status through reporting and meetings internally, externally, and to government management

Facilitate and lead scrums, PI planning, sprint planning, and ad hocs

Work in a fast-paced Agile environment with fluid requirements and changing priorities

Remove blockers to progress and manage dependencies to ensure team success

Required Skills:

Agile project management expert

Technical familiarity with SQL IT development and AWS cloud systems

Familiarity with government Authority to Operate (ATO) Information Assurance (IA) processes

Understanding of data management best practices

Strong soft skills to influence external entities

Moderate Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint acumen

Moderate Jira development software experience

Preferred Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) Certification and Project Management Professional (PMP)

DoD Top Secret Clearance

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in business management or similar field

5+ years of experience with project management
