Electrical Engineer

We have a new opportunity for an Electrical Engineer that will require the Engineer to evaluate and review designs drawings and specifications for new building and renovation projects. Most projects are higher education facilities. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure code compliance and troubleshoot existing design documents. Candidates will need to be very familiar with NEC Codes.

The Electrical Engineer will ensure all codes and standards are met for: Power, Lighting, Fire Protection Alarm systems, Audio/Video, and IT systems. All drawings must be reviewed to ensure they meet all safety and constructability codes. This will also include making sure they meet Campus and local Agency Standards. This will include identifying errors, omissions, inconsistencies, and conflicts. Occasionally field visits to the construction site will be required to communicate updates to the construction teams.

Required:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

5 plus yearsâ experience in electrical design, construction document preparation, and review for Commercial or Education facilities

Strong NEC Knowledge

Strong Communication Skills Preferred:

PE (strongly preferred)

RCDD Certification (Strongly Preferred)

Plan Review Experience for Local Municipality or State Government

Experience as a commissioning agent/authority.

Experience as a facility manager or working with facility managers during design, construction or project turn-over and occupancy

Pay Rate: DOE $38.00-$43.00
