REF: OM/CCMS WEEKEND HOURS SUPPORT WORKER

Our lovely 16-year-old client who loves singing along to music videos, taking trips out, and like any teenager loves playing computer games. He is looking for a compassionate, energetic, like-minded Support Worker to support him with his cerebral palsy and help him live life to the fullest potential.

The Role:

You will be working with our client, a 16-year-old lad who lives with his supportive father who is involved in his care, and his brother.

He loves to interact with his team, singing along to music videos, playing computer games, and trips out.

O is motivated to engage in his therapy routines and excels in the company of friendly, positive people.

Your role will be to aid in the implementation of therapeutic activities and provide personal care to enhance our client’s overall independence and well-being.

O has Cerebral Palsy and Global Developmental Delay. He uses a wheelchair to get around and is partly verbal and uses Makaton to help him communicate. O can sometimes present with heightened anxiety when away from home and this is being managed by a behaviour support plan.

Full training in all aspects of our client’s care will be given as will support from his friendly Case Manager and care team.

About You:

You will work closely with our client’s team of therapists to understand and implement therapeutic strategies between formal therapy sessions by following his support plan, being a team player who is willing to train and learn about our client’s particular needs.

You will help him to achieve his rehabilitation goals, working with members of the team to help our client develop skills of independence, building confidence and supporting the development of his physical abilities.

You will be a cheerful person who is energetic, flexible, reliable, resourceful, and courteous and have a positive and empathetic attitude to working with a person with additional needs, with a passion for providing excellent support and therapies.

Experience working with a child or young person with physical or learning disabilities is preferred as well as experience and/or a strong interest in working closely with a team of therapists and incorporating therapeutic strategies into day-to-day support.

Having a valid UK driving licence is preferable as you may drive our client’s automatic adapted vehicle.

Pay:

£16 per hour on weekdays

£18 per hour weekends

£25 per hour bank holidays

Hours/Shifts:

Saturday 15:00 to 20:00 (5 hours)

Sunday 14:00 to 20:00 (6 hours)

Weekday evenings from 17:00 to 20:00 may also be available as well as longer school holiday shifts.
