NLMK USA is looking for a Quality Technician in our Quality Department.

Job Summary Works with Engineers, Operations Management and Customer Technical Services to improve the product quality and conformance to customer expectations by monitoring exceptions to process standards, quantity of material on hold, and delays/issues in testing.

Intervenes to correct issues as directed by Engineers.

Interfaces with Operations, Sales and Planning to answers questions and expedite material.

Role and Responsibilities Position requires solid knowledge of material flow and bottlenecks, business and scheduling systems, and problem- solving, prioritization, and logistics skills.

* Follows all Safety policies and ensures that all safety issues are addressed in a timely manner.

* Must be trustworthy in all areas of professional and personal performance.

* Compile Day/WTD/MTD/YTD quality and operating performance metrics for Engineers.

* Uses business system and other tools to enter data, update status, run and review reports to maintain Quality Management System objectives * Alerts Engineers when technical standards and work instructions to ensure product quality and NPS requirements are NOT implemented and followed.

* Collects data for product and process quality improvement, as directed by Engineers.

* Understands technical processes and application of quality standards - alerts Engineers to issues with late coils, missed processing, aging material, Parsytec issues, failed or suspect status at testing, etc.

* Manages material referrals to Sales and to customers as directed by Engineers * Participates in Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement activity and NPS efforts as needed.

* Gathers data on processing, claims, and on any trials as directed by Engineers.

* Alerts Engineers to non-conformances in mill control, Parsytec (surface quality), measurement and operating practices for satisfactory production, and on-time shipment of product.

* Evaluates Operating Unit product quality of material produced and disposition as prime, rework or reclass based on established rules.

* Alerts Engineers to late material and report corrective actions to Sales as directed by Engineers.

* Perform other related work, as required Qualifications and Education Requirements Minimum requirement is 5 years’ experience in Steel.

Knowledge of Oracle and or Tableau a plus.
