About the Role:

Position: Product Designer

Location: Remote (Canada)

Summary:

The purpose of this team is to provide support for the Edge Browser team. It’s about design systems. Focusing on building/helping design team to block design into code. Need someone fluent in coding so they can communicate with engineers on how to make it usable code.

Role/Responsibilities:

Background in front-end development (C++ or web development) or computer science.

Proficiency in advanced prototyping tools (beyond Figma prototyping), adept at translating design specifications into tangible prototypes or functional code.

3-5 years of product design experience for the web, with demonstrated work-related experience.

Strong visual design skills for UI, particularly for websites and mobile apps.

Ability to articulate and present a deep understanding of standard design principles.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including experience collaborating closely with engineering partners.

Ability to thrive under tight deadline constraints.

Capacity to understand technology issues and effectively communicate information.

Proficiency in current and emerging web technologies and standard design software packages (e.g., Figma).

Portfolio available for review with the design lead.

Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field. A combination of education and experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.

Top Skills:

C++ and general Web Dev experience (3+ YOE)

Proto-typing abilities (that go beyond Figma – UI/UX design) (3+ YOE) – proto-pie experience is a plus

Presentation skills (3+ YOE)

Salary Range: $90000 - 105000 Annually Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
