Hook Cell Operator- Grave Shift

We are currently recruiting for a Hook Cell Operator to join the Benchmade Knife Company team. The Hook Cell Operator is responsible for the operation of the Hook Cell either manually or in automatic mode; buff hooks using a high speed buffing wheel; clean finished, sharpened hooks; perform final product inspection to ensure product meets cosmetic requirements.

This role will also conduct manual loading and unloading of parts into robot trays, as well as manually loading parts onto an automatic buffer. Once conducted the Hook Cell Operator also packages each hook in a consumer box and label with product identification label per instructions. This position also performs basic maintenance and cleaning of the robot cell and fixtures.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

Operates the laser marking and serration grinding equipment in either automated or manual modes.

Uses buffing wheels to sharpen hooks by hand.

Cleans and inspects finished, sharpened hooks.

Performs final product inspection to ensure product meets cosmetic requirements.

Packages each hook in a consumer box and label with product identification label per instructions.

Perform repetitive operations in a production environment.

Flex to move to where the work is needed.

Ability to read and interpret PCI and job routers.

Consistently meet production goals.

Ensure coolant levels are correct with refractometer.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work area.

Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of robot cell and fixtures.

Complete all necessary documentation.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and 1 year of general manufacturing is required. Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered.

Able to understand and follow written/oral instruction in English

Strong attention to detail and good hand eye coordination.

Willingness to learn new tasks and skills.

Prefer experience with hand inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, and refractometer).

Able to work in a manufacturing environment (exposure to dust, noise, oils and coolants, abrasives, heat, cold, adhesives, as well as automated and manual machinery).

Consistently meet requirements of regular, predictable and on-time attendance.
