VDC Coordinator II

In this role, you will be assigned to the VDC/BIM/CAD team and will assist in obtaining, evaluating, and coordinating all information needed to construct the project per the contract documents. You will do this through the use of BIM models and ensure that the work meets all safety standards, is within schedule requirements, and is constructed to the highest level of quality possible. This will be done by leveraging BIM tools and processes to benefit project workflows.

What You'll Do

Review models from designers, subcontractors, and others to ensure proper coordination and installation.

Coordinate all BIM logistics (contracts, emails, communication, file sharing, etc.).

Work on complex assignments independently, with attention to detail.

Coordinate and facilitate subcontractor BIM meetings.

Create and maintain federated models for many purposes, such as PE review models, field inspection models, punch list background models, and field instruction models.

General review and documentation of design documents and coordination conflicts.

Facilitate regular meetings with design team members and distribute responses to subcontractors.

Provide general BIM tech support for project engineers.

Assist in the validation of model-based project as-builts by trade subcontractors.

Is responsible for individual quality control and timely completion of assigned projects.

Field CQC support, resolving field disputes through model verification.

Verify with field subcontractors that they have the most current coordinated information.

Provide modeling for change order verification, ROMs, scope holes in modeling efforts, design team support, etc.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Has a Bachelor, Associate, or Technical degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

3-5 years of experience in computer-assisted drafting, design, and VDC/BIM.

Strong working knowledge of Navisworks Manage.

Has working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.

Knows of and/or takes initiative to learn modeling software such as Navisworks, Revit, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.

Strong working knowledge of MEP systems and installations.

Has experience with design technology, and is skilled in its application and practices to increase user effectiveness.

Extensive capabilities with MS Office Suite.

Has extensive knowledge of Autodesk and Bentley 3D/BIM Platforms, including experience with complex workflows involving these platforms.

Knowledge of Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), and other modern contractual delivery methods.

Understands the Construction industry and maintains knowledge of future trends.

Understands project workflows from design, estimation, construction administration and coordination, and fabrication.

Has field experience in design and construction.

Has great organizational skills, can juggle multiple jobs and files from multiple vendors, and meets project deadlines.

Customer service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well with individuals (co-workers, clients, vendors) at all levels.

Able to deal with and resolve conflicts between contractors, clients, and the design team.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of BIM 360, Glue, Field, and other Autodesk products.

Context & Safety

Travel is based on project location but willingness to travel 30-50% of the time to various job locations is necessary.

This position is a safety-sensitive position.

You will be designated for field work and attend activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
