T. Marzetti Company is looking for someone to provide for the maintenance and repair of the plant’s machinery, grounds, buildings and equipment. This is the entry level position in the maintenance classification and is expected to perform the job functions under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

Provides maintenance support required to sustain continuous operation of production equipment.

Performs major repairs and periodic maintenance to all plant equipment and assists in overhaul of equipment.

Inspects and evaluates all equipment to determine repair/maintenance needs prior to hazards or downtime situations.

Welds with a TIG welder on mild steel and has ability to use all types of welders with various materials.

Performs boiler and water tower tests.

Sets up and uses the plasma cutter properly and safely.

Repairs and maintains compressed air system including filters and oils.

Wires and troubleshoots a start/stop circuit and various wiring designs.

Assembles, installs and maintains all pumps, positive, centrifugal diaphragm, etc.

Changes, repairs, and maintains microswitches, photocells and proximity switches.

Disassembles and installs brake, clutch and belts on Autolab machine.

May be required to go to different shifts for training or provide training.

Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, & government standards.

Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude and accurate troubleshooting ability are required, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

Ability to successfully work independently and as a team with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks as assigned.

Must be able to successfully obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintain per company and OSHA standards.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – to and work well with Team Members, Management, Customers & Vendors.

Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation, ability to properly use/operate accurate tools and good math skills are required.

Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast paced environment.

Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required, Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred.

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more at various frequencies and or intervals. Must be able to stand for an 8 – 10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
