In this role, the primary function of a Payroll Analyst is to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees within the organization. This includes calculating wages, taxes, and deductions as well as resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
Responsibilities
Maintain Data
Process Time & Attendance
Run Calculation Reports
Identify Payroll Errors
Process pay groups as large as 1,000 active employees
Pre-Payroll
Employee record setup & data maintenance
Prepare manual / mass data changes for entry into payroll system
Validate employee data changes from system of record to payroll system
Process Direct Deposit enrollment forms and W4 Forms
Audit supporting documents
Monitor and react to items in the payroll mailbox
Source To Gross
Monitor T&A files & perform validation checks
Advise Tyson locations of issues in respect to late or incorrect submissions
Identify potential errors and notify Tyson for error resolution
Import additional Earnings and Deductions data from prepared files
Identify adjustments or corrections and update the payroll system
Gross to Net
Process payroll & validate data
Complete post payroll reconciliation reviews
Run Payroll reports
Year End & Miscellaneous Activities
Process off cycle payroll runs
Receive and enter year-end adjustments
Perform sample audit pre-transmission & post transmission
Manage direct deposit reversals and stop pays
Calculate manual pay cards
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
Experience in Payroll
Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel intermediate knowledge)
Experience with a multi-faceted payroll system is a requirement (i.e. ADP, Ceridian, PeopleSoft)
Experience in SAP HR considered a PLUS
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Accounting/Commerce
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Well versed in procedures and policies related to United States End to End Payroll & Payroll taxes including experience with Union payrolls
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent analytical skills; good research and problem solving skills
Detail oriented, good organizational skills and ability to work independently and within the team environment
Solid understanding of both payroll paid in arrears and payroll paid current
