Compensation: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for daily shipping and receiving of products in a timely manner to support operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production and storage of goods destined for sale to customer base.

Communicate with production and customer service regarding incoming and outgoing goods, sales and defective materials to forecast daily shipments, the cost and accuracy of shipments.

Responsible for accurately shipping material via UPS, Fed Ex, and some trucking carriers.

Remain abreast of freight guidelines and regulations with shipping companies.

Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety policies.

May be responsible for various forklift operations and required to obtain forklift certification.

Assist production as needed.

Assist with inventories as needed.

Perform related duties as required.JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Position requires knowledge of standard shipping and receiving procedures and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to interpret packing slips and accurately complete bill of lading.

Knowledge of basic computer skills.

Ability to perform data entry of shipments in carriers software package.

Working knowledge of standard shipping procedures including, but not limited to, international shipping regulations, Fed Ex, Ups and company policies.

Ability to capture accurate weights and use that information to calculate the cost of shipping.

Knowledge of proper packaging methods and ability to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem solve in at timely manner.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Knowledge and skills identified are acquired through the completion of a high school education and some technical training. Previous shipping and receiving experience helpful.

WORKING CLIMATE: Position regularly requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching and moving about the facility. May be exposed to shop elements such as noise and dust.
