Job Description

Under general supervision and reporting Quality Management in Quality Operations, The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing visual inspection operations including In-process, Final Inspection, and FAI’s as appropriate. The Quality Inspector must be familiar with hand tools and inspection under magnification. The Quality Inspector will also assist in verification of test data and all other applicable data concerning components, and associated documentation and other duties identified by cognizant management.

Job Responsibilities:

Prior hands-on PCBA experience

Inspects a variety of electronic units/boards using measuring/inspection instruments with proper inspection techniques including visual under magnification, component placement

Reads, interprets, and utilizes Quality policies, procedures, blueprints, and other documentation

Processes warehouse materials

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines/procedures to perform the functions of the job

Responsible for First article Inspections and completes related documentation

Complete and ensure inspection documents are kept current to include FAI inspections per AS9102

Perform and complete internal containment activity of identified non-conformances

Act as a Source Inspector

Support positive corrective actions and identification of root cause

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

Experienced quality individual in visual inspection of PCB boards, sub-assemblies and assemblies of aerospace machined components

Experience in performing FAl's -AS9102

Experience with visual magnification techniques

MS Outlook, and EXCEL experience

Experience with hand measurement gages, conduct conventional inspection to engineering requirements

Skills:

In-process and final inspection experience within defense industry preferred

IPC, J-STD, and Mil-Spec inspection experience preferred

Strong interpersonal skills; able to foster productive working relationships

Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives

Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated

Knowledge of ERP a plus

Strong verbal, written and communication skills

Fluent English - reading and writing is required

Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail

Strong independent decision-making skills; excellent analytical skills and professional judgment

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of basic computer skills, include basic Excel skills

Ability to:

Handle complex situations and solve complex problems

Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines

Press and analyze technical and business information

Work in a team environment with strong communication skills (verbal and written), ability to interact via telephone, email with co-workers

Remain seated for up to 5 hours at a time

Establish and maintain effective working relationships

Fluent English - reading and writing is required

Pass pre-hire background check including DMV and credit screening

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

HS diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience required

2+ years' experience as a quality inspector

2+ years' experience in an aerospace manufacturing facility

2+ years' experience in inspection duties, and FAl's

U.S citizen or permanent resident required

Additional Qualifications (Preferred):

The General Vision Acuity Test shall be performed by an Oculist, Optometrist, or other professionally recognized person. The following requirements shall apply.

• Near Vision – Eyes meets Orthorater 8 (95% or Jaeger #2 at 12 inches)

• Far vision – Eyes meets Orthorater 4 (76%) or Snellen Chart 20/50

• Color Perception – 6 of 9 Orthorater plates US or International citizenship or permanent residence status required depending on work location.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Productivity: Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.

Mobility: Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.

Vision: Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.

Environment: Typical office conditions, directly working Quality management team, working with the SMS team, and external customers.

Other Factors: Typical hours worked are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Incumbents may be required to work occasional extended hours and weekend overtime.

The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk (approximately 1-2 miles a day); sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will occasionally drive long distances to and from various suppliers as needed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Pay Range

$25.00 -$40.00 per hour, please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
