Workers' Compensation Paralegal

Job Description

Are you an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced workers' comp paralegal? You might be an excellent fit for our busy personal injury law firm. You will draft briefs, create legal documents such as affidavits, do legal research for trial preparation, and maintain case files and other critical materials organized and easily accessible.

We need someone with experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical materials to produce a factual response to discovery. You will also have expertise assisting with family settlement discussions and mediation in order to prevent litigation. $50,000 - $60,000 yearlyResponsibilities:

Discuss potential lien, bill, and medical expense settlements with service providers or insurers

Create legal pleadings, communications, and documents such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits with the assistance of a lawyer

Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by researching legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, submitting motions, and aiding with client meetings

Give legal assistance at family settlement meetings and mediation so that disputes can be settled without going to court

Set up a system of filing for our cases that is well-organized and easy to navigate, and other related admin dutiesQualifications:

Completion of a NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification program strongly preferred

Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree preferred

Must have 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer, preferably in a personal injury law firm

Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar

Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skillsAbout Company
