Construction Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Developing construction project budgets, ordering materials and collecting and organizing resources and personnel, including structural engineering employees, tools, machines and physical materials

Operating machinery and using tools to design complex structures like hydraulic systems and using computer software to plan and design projects and conduct risk analyses

Overseeing building progress and enforcing safety regulations at construction sites and submitting building permits to the proper authorities

Assessing the viability and potential risks associated with a construction project and considering factors like site conditions, environmental impact and financial feasibility

Negotiating and administering contracts with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors and ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulations

Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems that arise during the construction process

Working with architects, structural engineers and other personnel to ensure that the finished construction project aligns with the intended design and specifications and providing regular updates to clients and project managers
