As CRO, you will lead Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for Corebridge Bermuda. You will focus on risk management, internal controls and governance. Under the oversight of the Board, you will be responsible for setting the risk management framework and internal controls for Corebridge Bermuda and will work with the General Manager of Corebridge Bermuda to ensure that reinsurance transactions align with risk appetite as well as provide appropriate economic return for the company. You will also ensure that appropriate controls are in place to administer and business.

Responsibilities

Oversee the risk management framework and internal controls for Corebridge Bermuda

Set up appropriate risk management strategy, including risk appetite, limits and evaluation framework to manage evaluate affiliate reinsurance transactions.

Chair the Risk and Capital Committee.

Act as independent second line of defense for Regulators, Board of Directors and other stakeholders

Provide a risk perspective and effective challenge to the transactions and strategies.

Work closely with the business to ensure proper balance between growth, profitability and risk.

Lead key risk frameworks to steer Corebridge Bermuda

Produce risk reporting and other management information for increasing transparency and proactive management of key risks.

Own the annual CISSA report to summarize risks.

Conduct effective stress testing to evaluate resiliency of the company.

Work closely with the leadership team to manage the capital and ALM position of Corebridge Bermuda.

Maintain an effective control environment at the company

Set up and maintain appropriate governance for approval of transaction and business decisions.

Review the Underwriting guidelines and pricing guidelines.

Partner with Operational Risk and Technology Risk staff to facilitate the maintenance of business-unit risk registers and related risk identification, as applicable.

Qualifications

Demonstrated risk mindset and proven ability to effectively challenge.

Life and Annuities Insurance / Reinsurance experience

Business acumen with a proven track record of making sound judgments backed by strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Demonstrated experience using risk models, aggregation tools and data investigation.

Proven ability to influence and gain commitment from colleagues particularly those with whom there is no reporting relationship.

Understanding of capital and liquidity implications from a change in risk profile through economic, statutory and GAAP lenses.

Demonstrated ability to work across interdisciplinary teams that are geographically dispersed.

Strong communication skills (oral and written).

Ability to anticipate and effectively manage change.

Minimum 10 years of experience operating in a global organization
