Welder/Pressure Welder/Metal Fabricator

Full Time, Roma, Queensland based position

Fleming's is a well-established and successful company delivering professional, high-quality welding, fabrication and maintenance services primarily to the Oil and Gas industry of Australia.

As a trade qualified welder and fabricator, you will be responsible for carrying out welding works with state-of-the-art equipment in the workshop and on site. You are focused on high-quality work and consistent delivery of services within your role.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Reading and understanding plans/drawings

Carrying out measurements and calculations

Carry out welding using MMAW, GMAW, FCAW or GTAW

Pressure pipe fitting and pipe welding in accordance with approved weld procedures

Structural welding in accordance with approved weld procedures

Bolting, clamping and tack-welding of parts to secure correct positioning for assembly

Assemble pipe spools, assist in hydro-testing and paint when working on site

Operate company vehicles and equipment

Actively participate in the continual improvement of the company’s QHSE System

Read and interpret piping isometrics and engineering drawings

To be considered for the above role, you will need:

Certificate III or IV in Engineering Fabrication Trade, or recognised international equivalent. We will also consider applicants with at least 3-5 years + relevant experience in lieu of the formal qualification.

Experienced in pressure pipe and structural fabrication and welding

Experienced in welding with Mig, Tig and Stick

Experienced in using weld procedures

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Knowledge of current industry practices and procedures

Have a basic understanding of Non-destructive testing

Other requirements for this role:

Light Rigid (LR) and Forklift Licence (desired)

Located in or near Roma, Queensland, or willing to relocate – No FIFO offered

Successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening as part of the recruitment process

What’s in it for you:

Permanent, Full-time position, Monday – Friday role (38 hrs min) including overtime when required

Remuneration package between $67,000 - $85,000 plus Superannuation will be negotiated with the successful candidates.
