At Scottish Water, our purpose is to support a flourishing Scotland by looking after Scotland's most precious natural resource, from source to tap. We keep Scotland supplied with world class water, as well as care for our environment every minute of every day.

The teams across Scotland strive to ensure high standards are met and we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Performance Analyst to join our Programme Team in the Capital Investment Department at our office in Glasgow, Stepps.

This role requires both risk management and communication skills. You will support the effective and efficient delivery of the programme of works in accordance with the Scottish Water Capital Investment appraisal process through effective risk management.

What you’ll do

The Portfolio Management team is all about ensuring successful delivery of our Capital investment programme.

As a Performance Analyst with DV2 You will be reporting to the Risk Coordinator whilst working closely with Project Managers, the Programme Team and the Risk Team itself. You may also work with other departments on other projects which demand your analytical skills as the need arises.

Whilst this position is a Hybrid position, you would be expected to travel to Stepps, as a minimum 3 times a month, especially during your first 3 months with the company.

Responsibilities

Capturing risk intelligence data produced within the business.

Monitoring projects to ensure information is correct, up to date and accurate.

Ensuring that project risk costs are captured and can be verified.

Supporting project managers in populating their risk registers.

Providing training on our End to End (E2E) risk processes and procedures.

Developing methods to cost risks in projects.

Analysing data within our risk management systems and providing information to relevant departments and project owners.

Continually improving our current systems and processes.

Managing internal and external stakeholders.

Providing accurate and concise reports to senior management.

Any other tasks relevant to this position.

What You’ll Bring

Whilst a Degree in Risk Management, or a suitable discipline, is desirable, a good understanding of typical risk processes, procedures, and best practices is required. You'll need the ability to analyse data sets and produce cutting-edge reports tailored to a range of stakeholders.

Demonstrable skills in working with multi-discipline stakeholders, whether in person, over Teams, or running Risk workshops, are essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must, adaptable to various stakeholders.

A passion for meeting goals, targets, and KPIs is vital for success in this role. Familiarity with using the MS Office Suite is expected, and knowledge of MS Power BI would be beneficial.

Strong organisational skills are necessary, along with the ability to be a self-starter and plan your own work effectively. Problem-solving abilities are highly valued, as is a desire to develop and promote best practices within the organisation.

Above all, a willingness to support others and contribute to a collaborative working environment is essential for thriving in this role.

Looking out for you

While the work we do is important, we know it’s not the only thing that matters. That’s why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.

You’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.

When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.

For your future, there’s our defined benefits, contribution pension scheme (the ‘know-what-you’ll-get-when-you-retire’ kind), as well as life insurance,

As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash – handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.

Don’t worry - we’ll ask your permission before starting these checks.

A few final things worth knowing…

Research shows that some people avoid applying for jobs unless they can meet every single criteria. If you’re interested in this job, but don’t tick all the boxes, apply anyway! We hardly ever hire people who can do every part of a job from Day One. Everyone has a learning curve. So don’t rule yourself out!

Let us know if there are any changes we can make to our recruitment process to help you perform at your best. Lots of our people have disabilities or neurodiverse conditions (including some of our recruiters!). We're also aware that some people might be experiencing temporary challenges because of life events, like menopause. We’re very used to making adjustments, so please don’t be afraid to ask.

As part of our commitment to developing a flourishing Scotland, it’s important that all our employees are Scottish taxpayers. If you join us, your home address will need to be in Scotland. If you don’t already live here, you'll need to commit to moving here within your first three months.

Finally (finally!), candidates who haven’t submitted an application in the last 12 months will have their records removed from our recruitment database. You won’t need to do anything. Your data will be automatically deleted.
