Job Summary

Plans, designs, and oversees large construction projects and systems, such as buildings, roads, bridges, and water and sewage systems.

General Accountabilities

Considers construction costs

Government Regulations

Submits permits permit applications

Computes load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress

Manages and directs staff members and the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site.

Estimates quantities and cost of materials

Plans and designs transportation or hydraulic systems and structures

Prepares bid proposals, deeds, and environmental impact statements

Directs or participates in surveying to lay out installations

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field

Experience: At least 5 years of related experience
