This is a hybrid role in our Newton, MA office
The Cloud Infrastructure/Security Engineer will collaborate across functional IT teams and business units to drive the implementation of secure scalable, resilient and stable cloud infrastructure environments in alignment with Bright Horizons strategic objectives. The individual in this role will work closely with the Information Security, Architects, Engineering, Administrators and developers and other cross functional teams in leading cloud security initiatives. Will drive the configuration, implementation of cloud security controls as well as the daily administrative of our cloud enterprise security solutions across major cloud providers such as Azure and GCP. This role will be dedicated approximately 25% to cloud security initiatives and will play a crucial role in ensuring that cloud-based applications and services are compliant with Bright Horizons security policies and relevant compliance requirements.
This Cloud Infrastructure Engineer should have practical experience in administration of Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies such as GCP. A strong familiarity with compute, network, and storage in Azure, as well as Azure Active Directory, part of Microsoft Entra.
What you will be doing:
Collaborate across functional IT teams and business units to drive the implementation of secure scalable, resilient and stable cloud infrastructure environments in alignment with Bright Horizons strategic objectives
Work closely with the Information Security, Engineering and Operations and other cross functional teams in the assessment, design and implementation of robust cloud security solutions across major cloud providers such as Azure and GCP
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that cloud security controls are properly implemented, configured, and performing as intended in support of company security policy and applicable regulations
Daily administrative of our cloud enterprise security solutions and tools
Stay abreast of emerging cloud security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve our cloud security posture
Participate in security assessments of cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms, as necessary
Actively participate in Cloud Infrastructure initiatives. Working closely with the architecture team in planning, deployment and maintenance of Azure resources to support Bright Horizon's technology footprint in the cloud
Assist with resolution of Cloud Infrastructure support tickets as necessary
Socializes and reinforces established processes, procedures and policies
Continuous training and development in cloud (Azure) technologies and best practices
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
What we hope you bring to the role:
Bachelor's Degree - Bachelors in technology field or relevant experience - Required
5 additional years of experience would be considered in lieu of applicable degree
5 years of experience - 3-5 years of relevant cloud and or infrastructure administration and engineering - Required
Relevant hands on experience in the engineering and administration of Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies such as GCP
A strong familiarity with compute, network, and storage in Azure, as well as Azure Active Directory, part of Microsoft Entra.
Familiarity with IaC tools such as Ansible and Terraform
Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication and soft skills
Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Azure Security are a plus
