We are looking for several college students to assist us for a six-week internship during the months of June and July. The intern role will be part of a team working on a special research project to improve the lives of students with disabilities. Alongside nonprofit staff, the team will examine the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), current disability policy, and proposed disability legislation. We will also examine classroom accommodations and create resources for teachers and school administrators to use to offer the best learning environment possible for students with disabilities. This opportunity is open to current college students who have completed two years of coursework toward a bachelor’s degree.

Skills Needed:

Work hours are three days per week from 11 AM to 4 PM in our Clearwater, FL office. Details will be provided to applicants during the interview process.

Job Qualifications

Demonstrate sensitivity, tact, and professionalism in dealing with others

Extremely organized and efficient with time

Energetic and outgoing

Current college student with at least two years of coursework completed

College GPA of 3.0 or higher

Positive demeanor

Ability to work 11 AM to 4 PM three days per week and one, weekend event in both June and July (Date TBD). The weekend event will entail helping to host large social events for adults with disabilities.

Volunteer experience a plus
